LEA Aerobics Club - The LEA Aerobics Club offers classes for all levels of fitness. Classes are held at NASA Langley's gymnasium on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.  The Club supplies all equipment such as barbells, dumbbells, steps, exertubes, mats, etc.  Classes range from weight/strength training to step aerobics to high-energy kickboxing.  Each class is $3 and there is no start-up membership fee.  Langley civil servants, contractors, and family members are welcome.  Call Kim Tatum at 4-8454 or email her at k.r.tatum@larc.nasa.gov for the latest class schedule. Visit http://larc-exchange.larc .nasa.gov/lea/aerobics

Amateur Radio Club - The Amateur Radio Club is a group who enjoy radio communications as a hobby or as support for public services such as municipal emergency operations centers. This includes, but is not limited to voice and digital computer communications via radio. Amateur Radio is an excellent training resource for skills that are applied in the work place, home and for public service. Membership is not limited to licensed hams and training classes are available to assist you in obtaining an Amateur Radio license with a unique call sign. Meetings are informal and often held via radio nets. For more information, please contact Jim Byrd, 45961 or John Parker, 41899. Visit http://larc-exchange .larc.nasa.gov/lea/amateur-radio

Amateur Satellite Observers - The Amateur Satellite Observers (of Southeast Virginia) is involved with assisting individuals and families in the observation of earth orbiting satellites with the unaided eye. This includes boost phase observations of the Space Shuttle, on orbit observations of satellites such as the International Space Station, and reentry observations of the Shuttle. These events are exciting to view but infrequent. Communicating when and where to observe these events is one of the primary goals of this largely information and media oriented group. For more information, please contact Jim Byrd, 45961 or Jim Hallissy, 42865. Visit http://www.seva.net/reg/satellite

Garden Club - The NASA Garden club has garden plots (20' x 50') beside B-1244 parking lot. Each lot costs $20 per year. Each individual is responsible for the upkeep of their plots. There is water available at the site of the plots. For information call Greg Buck at 45240.

Memory Mates Club - The Memory Mates Club is based on the principles of preserving photos, stories, memorabilia, and heritage for family, friends, and co-workers. Meetings are held once a month at the NASA LaRC Reid Conference Center in the Hampton/Langley Rooms usually on a Friday from 6:00 p.m. - 12 midnight. Come fellowship with a group of creative participants and share your ideas! If interested, send e-mail to laa+memorymates@larc.nasa.gov to be added to the e-mail distribution list. To find out the upcoming events and other club information, please visit the following URL: http://larc-exchange/lea/memorymates/index.htm

Prayer Club – The Objective of the Prayer club is to provide opportunities for LaRC employees and contract personnel to pray.   The group sponsors the observance of the National Day of Prayer and other appropriate observances.  For information contact Rich Antcliff at X43000 or Richard.R.Antcliff@nasa.gov

Runners' Club - The Langley Runners' Club is set up to promote running for improved fitness at LaRC by holding races during the year. The major events are NASA Intercenter Races held in April and October. Each NASA Center holds 10-KM and 2-Mile races with the results combined and scored. The scoring is by 5-year age groups and includes participation and place points. The Langley club conducts races of various distances and formats at other times during the year. The club has a 10-Step Achievement Chart and awards ribbons to the members as they advance to new levels of running. Membership is open to all NASA Langley employees and on/near-site contractors. Family members are welcome to participate in the races if security conditions allow them on Center. Runners' Club dues are $2.00 per calendar year. Visit http://larc-exc hange.larc.nasa.gov/lea/runners/index.html

The Skywatchers Club - The Skywatchers Club is for people interested in astronomy as a hobby. We have regularly-scheduled observing sessions at more than one location, including the Skywatchers Observatory (B.1231A), which is next door to the day care center. The club has three telescopes, and most of the club members own and use one or more telescopes and/or binoculars, which they bring to observing sessions. The club usually meets once each month to discuss club business. Membership dues are $20.00 per year. Also offered for an additional charge is an optional subscription to Sky and Telescope magazine, at the (discounted) club rate. The points of contact are Marilyn Ogburn (4-1175) and Robert Mack (4-5988).

LaRC Tennis Club - The NASA LaRC Tennis Club is open to all NASA Langley civil servants, contractor personnel and their immediate family (age 15 and older) and costs only $12/yr. During the season we have free lessons and clinics for those who want to improve their games. Picnics, leagues and tournaments are also planned for folks who want to get together and play in a good mix of formats. We have a diverse group of folks with varied experience and all skill levels are welcome. Visit our web site at: http://http://larc-exchange.larc.nasa.gov/lea/tennis/tennis.htm for the list of events we have scheduled for this year. Contact Scott Angster (phone: 864-8045 e-mail: s.r.angster@larc.nasa.gov) or download a membership application from our website to join. Come join us and share our love of the game.
